Kona’s Must-Do Running Event!
Join us for the Big Island’s premier 5k event, but register early because this event fills up fast! Start time is at 7:30 AM SHARP on December 17, 2023 at the Coconut Grove Marketplace. Come out and have some fun! The 5k event encourages participation from all fitness levels and running backgrounds. You will have a blast – especially with the holiday costumes – a perfect addition to your holiday season! And for you parents out there…be sure to get your kids ready for ‘Santa’s Keiki Dash” – a popular fun Kona running event for children 6 & under! (50-yd, 100-yd, & 200-yd events).

Largest Hawaii Island 5k Run!
Only 48 participants lined up for the event 18 years ago, but it has grown into the most prestigious and largest 5k event on the Big Island. But don’t worry, it’s really not that big! (Just Big for Kona Standards…)
And let’s be honest – a race wouldn’t be a race without some genuine competitiveness. Over the years, the Jingle Bell Beach Run has witnessed some stellar performances – check out some of the times – Top Overall Finishers.
Themed Event – Fun Christmas Holiday Costume Contest!
The hundreds of creative holiday costumes that participants wear make this event so unique. It’s genuinely an incredible parade of holiday fun! Plus, awards are presented for the top three best-dressed Christmas costumes. And if you’re not a fast runner and your costume was junk, you still have a great chance to win one of the dozens of fantastic raffle prizes! Seriously, it’s pretty hard to go home empty-handed at this event…
Santa’s Keiki Dash – Free for Kids!
A fun, free event for kids 6 & under. Parents are welcome to accompany their children. Non-competitive, no awards, just lots of fun with plenty of goodies! Keiki can do a 50-yard dash (1-2 years), a 100-yard dash (3-4 years), or a 200-yard dash (5-6 years.) Santa’s Keiki Dash starts at 8:30, following the completion of the Jingle Bell Beach Run 5k event. The kid’s event is one, two, or three laps around the sandy volleyball court area. Parents can register their kids (free) on race morning at the start/finish area (Coconut Grove). Waivers must be signed for children. Bib #’s will be issued at registration.
