Can I register for the race ON race morning?NO. ONLINE REGISTRATION closes 12/15 (4:00 PM). Packet Pickup will be available from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, 12/16 at Coconut Grove Marketplace (on grassy lawn area). Late In-Person registration will also be available during packet pickup (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) on Saturday, 12/16. How and where do I pick up my race number?Race numbers can be picked up at Coconut Grove Marketplace on Ali’i Drive between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, 12/16. *Race numbers can also be picked up on race day at Coconut Grove from 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM if absolutely necessary. Organizers will not be responsible for participants who miss the 7:30 AM start of the race due to waiting in long lines on race morning. Can I get a refund or transfer my race entry to another participant?No, sorry. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Do you offer training?Yes. Contact Big Island Running Company (808-327-9333) and ask about their “Couch to 5-K” training program. Can I change my shirt size?No. We generally order just enough quantities for all participants – based on the sizes specified during registration. My company or organization would like to be involved as a sponsor, who do we contact to learn more about sponsorship?Mahalo! Please send an inquiry to info@hawaiisportevents.com. RACE DAY (Sunday – Dec 17th, 2023)What time does the race start?
Where should I park?Parking is available at Coconut Grove Marketplace. View Details Here How do I stage myself at the start?For safety, you should stage yourself by how fast you run or walk. Fast runners at the front, joggers in the middle and walkers near the back. How many aid stations will be provided and what will be provided?Water only will be provided for the 5k event – with 1-Aid Station located at the 1.3-mile point. There will also be water at the finish line. I run with my GPS. How accurate is the course distance/ mile markers?The course has been measured by a Garmin GPS. Will the road be closed to traffic?Yes. Click here to view details. However, please utilize caution and safety at all times. Is there a time limit for finishing the race?Yes. Cut off time will be at 9:00 AM due to the opening of the South bound lane to traffic. Are baby strollers and racing strollers allowed on the race course?Yes, strollers are allowed on the race course. Please seed yourself accordingly at the start line. Are dogs allowed on the course?No. Sadly, pets may not participate because our permit specifically excludes them and for their own safety. Are bikes, skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, or wheelies allowed?No. Our permit specifically excludes all wheeled vehicles with the exception of wheel chairs & baby jogger strollers. Can I wear headphones/ listen to my iPod during the race?The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, we encourage a headphone-free environment. You won’t want to miss any of the beauty (sights and sounds) along the Ali’i Drive coastline! Is there any food or drinks at the finish line?Yes. There will be water and snacks at the finish line. Will there be awards after the race?Yes. Awards will begin at 9:00 AM for the 5k Event. Please see the Prizes & Awards tab for age divisions.
