Coconut Grove Marketplace is once again hosting this year’s Jingle Bell Beach Run! Our 16th annual event starts and finishes in front of the iconic beachfront property overlooking beautiful Kailua Bay.
Coconut Grove Marketplace is just .5 mile South of the Kailua Pier offering beautiful wide-open grassy areas, ample parking, and an array of great restaurants & shops – including the famous Big Island Running Company.

Runners enjoying historic Ali’i Drive
The 5k course travels along the famous and historic Ali’i Drive – a Scenic Byway – also known as “The Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast.” The out and back courses start and finish at the Coconut Grove Marketplace, providing participants with beautiful views of Kailua Bay, Kailua Village, and the lush green scenery along the coastline. Most notably, Ali’i Drive has become rather mythical over the years to many of the world’s greatest athletes as it is the epicenter of the annual Ironman Triathlon World Championships held each October. No doubt, there’s something truly special about running on Ali’i Drive!

Race Start: 7:30 AM
Starting at the Coconut Grove Marketplace, participants will travel North on Ali’i Drive and hit the first turnaround point at Kailua Pier, then will head South on Ali’i Drive to the second turnaround point (approximately 10-meters after Green Flash Coffee). An aid station will be located at approximately 1.3 miles, and clear signage will also be located at turnarounds to prevent any confusion. Participants will then head back North along Ali’i Drive to the finish line at Coconut Grove Marketplace . Terrain is relatively flat with a few gradual inclines along the way.
